Training as an automotive mechatronics technician

Your start into a technological strong future.

Become an automotive mechatronics technician in Germany:

As an electronics technician, you work with modern technology, install and maintain electrical systems, and ensure that buildings, machinery, and equipment operate safely and reliably. You carry responsibility for electrical safety, work with precision and in accordance with applicable standards, and find yourself in a diverse professional field — ranging from craft businesses and industrial companies to the energy and building technology sectors.

What does the training involve?

During the training, you acquire comprehensive technical knowledge: you learn how to install, test, and maintain electrical systems, how to read circuit diagrams, how to use measuring instruments, and how to apply essential safety regulations. In the company, you gain practical experience, while the vocational school provides you with theoretical foundations such as electrical engineering, energy supply, and digitalization. Step by step, you grow into demanding technical responsibilities.

Entry requirements

A school‑leaving certificate is generally required, ideally combined with an interest in mathematics, physics, and technical processes. Manual skills, accuracy, reliability, and a readiness to work responsibly with electrical energy are also important. Prior experience is not mandatory — what matters most is your motivation and willingness to learn.

Your German language skills should be at least at level C1.
